Hawaii’s Better Business Bureau
® (BBB), the leader in promoting trust in Hawaii’s marketplace, has announced the finalists of its 2009 BBB Torch Awards.
“The BBB Torch Awards program publically recognizes businesses and organizations that demonstrate and maintain solid commitment to ethical businesses practices,” said Dwight Kealoha, chief executive officer of Hawaii’s BBB. “This year’s finalists reflect our mission as leaders in advancing marketplace trust, and we honor their willingness and efforts to ensure that Hawaii’s marketplace remains fair and honorable.”
Representatives from last year’s BBB Torch Awards winners judged the entries and selected the finalists. The 2009 BBB Torch Awards finalists are:
- Small Business Category (less then 50 employees): Hawaii Pacific Entertainment, Hawaii Self Storage, ING Direct, and Surfing Goat Dairy
- Medium-Sized Business Category (50 – 99 employees): Coastal Windows, Honolulu Ford, and Inspiration Interiors
- Large Business Category (100+ employees): AIG Hawaii, Atlas Insurance Agency, and Crazy Shirts
- Public Charity Category: Aloha United Way, Kahala Nui, and Lupus Hawaii
Winners will be announced at the 2009 BBB Torch Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 29 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa.
Rob Parke, Target's District Team Leader in Hawaii will be the keynote speaker. Target Corporation is the 2009 BBB International Torch Award recipient for Advancing Marketplace Trust, which recognizes organizations that set high standards of excellence for trust through innovative voluntary actions, programs, or sustainment activities. Parke will share Target’s vision for and commitment to its team members, its customers and the Hawaii community.
Individual tickets are $75 for BBB Accredited Businesses and nonprofit organizations, and $90 for all others.
