HONOLULU (June 17, 2013) – Hawaii’s Better Business Bureau® (BBB), the leader in advancing marketplace trust, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gregory D. Dunn as the organization’s president and CEO, effective June 17, 2013. Dunn succeeds Dwight Kealoha, who is retiring after eight years of guiding the Hawaii organization.
Dunn brings to BBB a strong background in both the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds. He joins Hawaii’s BBB from his most recent position as vice president of operations for Fair Horizon LLC, and has spent more than a decade directing the operations of several high-level Hawaii organizations including the Hawaii Nature Center and the Barnes and Noble superstore in Honolulu.
“We are pleased to have found a leader of Greg’s caliber,” said Tom Dixon, chair of the Board of Directors of Hawaii’s BBB. “Greg possesses the ideal combination of business acumen and nonprofit expertise to keep Hawaii’s BBB moving forward in its mission of advancing marketplace trust.”
Dunn intends to focus on continuing to build relationships with Hawaii businesses and encouraging consumers to become educated buyers. "This organization has grown and accomplished so much under Dwight’s direction. I'm excited to continue his good work and to take the organization even further,” Gregory says. "It's my pledge to focus on our Accredited Business services and remind the marketplace what we do; what we're all about."
