HONOLULU – Hawaii’s Better Business Bureau® (BBB), the leader in advancing marketplace trust, has announced the finalists of its 2010 BBB Torch Awards program.
“The BBB Torch Awards program celebrates businesses and public charities that demonstrate and maintain solid commitment to high standards for trust and accountability in their day-to-day operations,” said Dwight Kealoha, chief executive officer of Hawaii’s BBB. “This year’s finalists reflect our mission as leaders in advancing trust in Hawaii’s marketplace. We honor their dedicated efforts toward an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers, and charities and donors can trust each other.”
Representatives from last year’s BBB Torch Awards winners judged the entries and selected the finalists. The 2010 BBB Torch Awards finalists are:
- Small Business Category (0 - 49 employees): Business Consulting Resources, Fun Hogs Sportfishing, Loomis–ISC, and The Audio Visual Company.
- Medium-Sized Business Category (50 – 99 employees): Island Naturals Market, Lex Brodie’s Tire Company, Mastercare, and Retina Institute of Hawaii.
- Large Business Category (100+ employees): Aloha Air Cargo, Kahala Nui, Kaiser Permanente, and Servco Pacific.
- Public Charity Category: Hospice Hawaii, Kauai Food Bank, and Lanakila Pacific.
Winners will be announced at the 2010 BBB Torch Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 28 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa in Honolulu.
Djuan Rivers, Vice President, Disney Vacation Club and Resort Hawaii, is the keynote speaker at the 2010 BBB Torch Awards Luncheon. During his keynote address, Rivers will present how Disney cultivates an atmosphere of trust and collaboration by employing its expertise and best practices in family entertainment. He will also share how the Aulani resort combines Disney storytelling with the magnificent history, values and culture of Hawaii to create a truly memorable destination for visitors to the Leeward Coast of Oahu.
Individual tickets are $75 for BBB Accredited Businesses and nonprofit organizations, and $95 for all others. Corporate table sponsorships are also available.
